Warranty FAQ

How long is your workmanship warranty?

We provide a 2-year workmanship warranty on general construction, renovations, decks, fencing, and exterior work. Roofing systems are covered for 5 years, starting from the date the project is completed.

What does the workmanship warranty cover?

Our warranty covers defects that result from improper installation or workmanship performed by East Coast Contracting. If an issue is confirmed to be workmanship-related, we will repair or correct it.

Are materials covered under your warranty?

Materials and products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, not our labour warranty. Coverage length and conditions vary by product and manufacturer. We will assist with warranty documentation or claims when needed.

What is not covered under the warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by weather events (storms, wind, flooding, snow, ice, etc.)
  • Normal wear and tear or aging of materials
  • Lack of routine maintenance
  • Ground movement or settling
  • Alterations or repairs completed by others
  • Misuse, neglect, or abuse
  • Third-party workmanship
  • Indirect or consequential damages

How do I submit a warranty claim?

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing and include:

  • A description of the issue
  • The project address
  • Clear supporting photos

Once received, we will review the claim and contact you to discuss next steps.

Is the warranty transferable?

Our workmanship warranty is non-transferable, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
